Every platform you have ever used has been quietly collecting your history. Ori reads it and gives it back to you as something meaningful. The more you upload the richer your story becomes.
Get your data
Follow these steps for each platform. Facebook and Instagram are exported together from Meta’s Accounts Centre. Upload once — Ori remembers everything.
Downloading your data from Spotify Google Facebook and Instagram needs to be done on a desktop or laptop computer. Once downloaded you can upload the zip file to Ori from any device including your phone.
Tip from our users — use Customize information to select only what you want. Choosing All time gives Ori the richest picture of your history.
Personal diary or journal
Upload anytime
Upload any text file from your personal diary, journal, or notes. Ori accepts .txt and .md files. The more personal the writing, the richer your story becomes. Add files on My Data.
WhatsApp
Export per chat — no bulk download
Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Open a specific chat you want to add to Ori.
Tap the three dots menu at the top right.
Tap More then Export chat.
Choose Without media for a faster smaller file.
Share the txt file to yourself via email Google Drive or AirDrop.
Upload the txt file directly to Ori — no zip needed.
Repeat for each chat you want to add.
WhatsApp does not allow bulk export of all chats at once. This is because your messages are end-to-end encrypted — even WhatsApp cannot access them as a bulk file. Export your most important chats one at a time. We recommend starting with your 5 to 10 most active chats.
Which chats are worth exporting? Focus on chats that cover significant life periods — close friends you have messaged for years, family group chats, and any chat that was active during important moments in your life. Quality beats quantity. The more meaningful the chat the richer your Ori story becomes.
